I took this photo this summer while in New York City. I loved the old feel of the stones, and how the light filtered through the trees to highlight some parts. This photo was taken in Central Park. I like the irregular arrangement of the stones--it almost seems like an irregular pattern. As I took this picture I watched people walking over the path and they weren't even observing where they were walking. It made me wonder how many people actually stopped to notice the beautiful walk and what kinds of different people travelled over this ground.

I have always loved the old stone and even brick roads. They are so old fashioned and interesting. I always wondered what they were thinking when they designed them. Were they intended to be a pattern of just random? Either way, I like it!
