longing to belong

This is a plant in my living room and with the natural light coming from behind it it gives a sense of being lonely and longing to be somewhere else. I manipulated some of the settings on the camera to keep it dark and this is also shot in black and white to over exaggerate the contrast. I found that that shooting through the glass the landscape behind it is slightly distorted conveying the emotions even more.
